One more cold day - then it's planting time!

Blooms of all kinds

We are getting ready to start planting - not just yet because of the next couple of cold mornings... but soon.

Then we can think about this lovely dahlia.....

And this amazing daylily.... This is Black Jack

Challenger is our tallest daylily - it's taller than me!

We are gathering supplies, putting in our seeds orders, and getting the greenhouse in tip top shape for all of the spring activity.

Hello sunshine!

Yesterday was a just a taste of summer. I really want to get out there and get growing.

We might need a bigger table

If our planting schedule for this year works out we might need a bigger table for the farmers market!

Last year we had plenty of blooms but we'll have tons this year.

Bloom staging

Last year we had a great set up for staging the blooms to be readied for the market. They sat in a shady spot and soaked up the fresh water.

This summer we might have to expand our staging area. We are getting closer to spring!

Oddity

Sometimes we get a weird one....

But that is OK - all blooms are beautiful!

Let's hear it for big splashy blooms

Don't you just love a big splashy bloom?

These big yellow daylilies can really take center stage.

In the meantime this bud will become a huge yellow dahlia.

And these lovely ladies will be sunflowers.

If our growing season is going to be anything like last year then it will be fantastic this summer!
