The rain isn't dampening our spirits!

The sunflowers are so glad for the rain..... it isn't dampening our spirits at all.

Good morning, sunflower!

The grow gardens are springing to life. Sure, we can run the sprinklers but there is nothing like a nice soaking rain to really get everything growing.

This lovely pink dahlia was overjoyed with the rain.

I'm hoping the weather will hold out for Saturday's market - we'll have some terrific blooms.

Blooms of all kinds

We are getting ready to start planting - not just yet because of the next couple of cold mornings... but soon.

Then we can think about this lovely dahlia.....

And this amazing daylily.... This is Black Jack

Challenger is our tallest daylily - it's taller than me!

We are gathering supplies, putting in our seeds orders, and getting the greenhouse in tip top shape for all of the spring activity.

Bloom staging

Last year we had a great set up for staging the blooms to be readied for the market. They sat in a shady spot and soaked up the fresh water.

This summer we might have to expand our staging area. We are getting closer to spring!

Maybe a few more..

Daylilies... how about this drop dead red?

This red bloom is not for sale... well. Sometimes we have it available.

We use gooseneck in our bouquets as well.
And buckets...

And buckets...

Of blooms!

This is going to be a great year!

How about some daylilies?

Do you know that we grow and sell daylilies? Yep!

Miss Jessie is a favorite.

Strawberry candy, I'm sure.

And Mexican Holiday - what a looker!

We also use the blooms in our bouquets. Don't worry - they last more than a day.

The daylilies should start trying to grow pretty soon. Come on, spring!

Dahlias need some love too!

Our first dahlias started to come on about mid-June last year.

This was the very first one.

We are so excited about our dahlias this year. For now they are resting in a nice, comfy bed of peat moss. But they are excite to get growing!

Yay blooms!
