Our sunflowers were a smash!

Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday! We completely sold out of all of our sunflowers and most of our daylilies!

Remember to keep the water fresh and to re-cut the sunflowers - if you do then they should last about a week.

Thanks again and see you next week!

Market Ready - Tomato Salad Bowls and Bloomers!

We are thrilled to be packing up the truck for the Lancaster Farmers Market on Saturday!

Blooms all season!

Our first blooms of the season started just yesterday with this stunner - it is the first to bloom and goes all season. This lovely daylily is a win for your garden. Fans for $3 each.

We'll also have our Tomato Salad Bowls - combo pots of a tomato (Roma, Sweet 100's, or Mortgage Lifter), lettuce, and a wonderful basil mix. Perfect for the patio. $8 for large or $6 for small pots.

We'll also have a selection of daylily plants. Of course we are bringing a big basket of "orphans" - our famous grab bag of whatever we can't identify. We have some spiders but don't worry these are not creepy!

And we'll also have some purple all stars..

 Gothic Troll - $1/fan

 Nosferatu $1/fan

Aspic $1/fan

See you at the market!

Mice!

Rats. Actually.. mice.  Somewhere there is a very fat mouse patting his belly.  He is very very full of my sunflower seeds. The greenhouse was raided by not-so-friendly Mickey types and 8 trays of seeds were wiped out.
Gone.

The 5/13, 5/16, and one tray from the 5/27 plantings were all destroyed. This means that we won't have our full harvest of sunflower blooms for some of July. But the good news is that we have some fast growing varieties that should get us caught up.

In the meantime we'll set the barncat on that mouse.

Terrific market yesterday on Saturday. Thanks to all the customers who came out.

The potted dahlias were a huge hit and I know they are going to be enjoyed by all. We had plenty of "Orphan" daylilies at just $0.50 each....and also lots of the classic Stella De Oro for a quick start to an easy border.

See you next week everyone!
